The Lewis family seemed to have the reputation for being quite jovial and fun to be around,

as can be indicated in this group photo below (1919 birthday party for Crystal and Birda) where all the kids are distracted by the fact that Birda's holding a kitten up and her brother Siney Jr is holding it's tail up above the kids.
